AT&T provides telephone service to Spalding County with
direct-dial digital service available. A local Electronic Stored
Program Control Central Office offers a wide range of enhanced
features such a Digital CENTREX Service for business and Custom
Calling Services for both businesses and residential use. Access is
available to a variety of long distance carriers’ fiber optic
networks.

Infrastructure
Along with the Digital Electronic Stored Program Control local
central office, many miles of fiber optic cable support the
telecommunication network in the Griffin area with additional
deployment in progress.
Service
AT&T offers trained service technicians to maintain most any
business system sold. The digital switching system utilizes
state-of-the-art communications technology to serve Griffin and is
among the best in terms of reliability. AT&T cooperates with
MCI and other long-lines systems. Trucks and other facilities
are available upon request.
Call Waiting, Call Forwarding, Speed
Calling, Three Way Calling, Call Return, Call Tracing, WATS, 800
service, Telex service and FX lines are available from BellSouth. If
problems occur, there is 100% backup and 24-hour availability at the
BellSouth Central Office.
Mobile Telephone Service
Mobile telephone service is available from AT&T Wireless, Nextel, T-Mobile,
Metro PCS & Verizon Wireless.
The system works well in the Griffin area, and a call on the
cellular system to Atlanta is a local call.
