Griffin and Spalding County are ideally located just 35 miles south of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Interstate 75, just minutes from the county’s industrial and business parks, connects with I-85 and I-285 (Atlanta’s perimeter) adjacent to the airport. International travel from the world’s busiest airport, ground travel by means of a number of Interstates and State Highways or passenger and/or freight travel by rail are all within minutes of all parts of the county. Griffin’s industrial and business parks offer fiber optic cable and are well-suited to business of almost any type.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
Designed to accommodate 54 million total passengers per year (yet now exceeding that number), the $500 million terminal at Hartsfield was completed in 1980 and is undergoing expansion. Most airline flights in the Southeastern US connect at Hartsfield-Jackson. Non-stop air service is provided daily from Atlanta to more than 190 cities, 145 of those being domestic destinations. Eighty percent of the nation’s population is within two hours’ flight time with nearly 100% within four hours’ time. The main hub for Delta Air Lines and AirTran Airways, Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson, manages over 2,400 flights per day. Six concourses with 168 gates allow efficient connections without passengers having to enter the main terminal building (although the trip is a treat). The 28-gate International Concourse can handle inspection processing of 6,000 passengers per hour.
