Healthcare
High
quality healthcare gives our residents and business community a
level of confidence that is priceless.
Spalding Regional Medical Center,
with 160 beds, offers treatment in 20 specialties. Partnering with
over 120 physicians, the medical facility is staffed by more than
900
people and boasts five operating suites and a cystoscopy room with
state-of-the-art surgical and anesthesia equipment.
A $3
million, 26,650 square-feet Outpatient Service Center was opened in
1995; the wing houses an ambulatory services unit and a magnetic
resonance imaging unit (MRI). During 2008, 90,000 outpatient
procedures were performed at the center. Off-campus facilities include
Spalding Regional Mammography and Spalding Regional EMS. A
multi-million-dollar expansion will soon more than double the size
of the existing Emergency Department.
Several home care organizations operate in Griffin as well as a
number of private practices offering a wide range of services,
including X-Ray, lab work and minor surgery. The Family Medical
Center and McIntosh Trail Family Practice Associates specialize in total family health care.
